One of the major concerns of retailers when conducting a Store Closing Sale is how to sell their fixtures. If planned correctly, this is usually not a problem.
Prior to the start of your sale you need to price and/or sign all fixtures. Most fixtures for small retailers are sold directly to their customers. It is amazing the unique uses that customers can find for store fixtures. A good guideline for pricing the fixtures is to price it at 50% of its original cost. This is just a guideline.
Two other tactics that can be used to sell your fixtures are to use the on-line local “Craigslist” listings and to send out a flyer listing available fixtures and pricing to similar businesses in your market. You should update your “Craigslist” listing on a weekly basis to remain at the top of the long list of products for sale.
